Molecular Image (MI) is an early-stage personalized-medicine software company. MI’s software technology allows Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data to be used for predictive molecular diagnostics for multiple sclerosis and other important diseases. Over 400,000 patients in the U.S. have MS, with more than 1,000 new cases diagnosed every week. Among the difficult issues MS patients and their doctors wrestle with is deciding on the correct therapy. MS drugs are very expensive often completely ineffective and the best drugs have life-threatening side effects. There is currently no way to stratify patients by their risk of rapid disease progression. Our technology allows doctors to non-invasively measure the levels of specific molecules inside the brain to provide a quantitative risk score for disease progression and thereby influence disease management plans. We do this by using standard MRI machines, but collecting and analyzing the data from brain scans in a proprietary way. We anticipate operating as a service to MRI centers using a SaaS model.
